Custom Engagement Rings with Lab Created Diamonds and Gemstones by DKB Jewelry
When it comes to jewelry design, there are no rules, and this is especially true with bridal jewelry today. More women are going for custom designs, and with the advent of 3D computer software, the skies the limit.
As a jeweler, I'm very exited to offer my clients affordable custom designs that are unique to their specific tastes that won't break the bank. Over the last 5 years, I've seen a trend towards diamond alternatives and lab created colored gemstones. And why not? There are companies out there creating lab grown gemstones that are just as beautiful as the real thing at a cheaper price point.
Though the classic styles remain popular, I've seen a rise in interest around vintage looks as well as ultra modern looks.
Here's a vintage inspired style that I designed for a client. The center stone is a 10x5 marquise cut moissanite, with 2 trillion cut moissanite side stones, all set in platinum:
Another vintage inspired look designed for a client who wanted to replicate a ring her mother owned. The setting is 18k rose gold. The center stone is a 9x4.5 mm marquise cut moissanite surrounded by ethically sourced round cut accent diamonds:
The design below was for a client who wanted a big bold ultra modern look using different shape stones with lots of color. The stones used are lab created. There's an oval blue sapphire, 2 trillion cut rubies, and a square cut moissanite. It has a European ring shank and the setting is made in palladium:

If your budget doesn't allow for the real thing, don't sweat it. With moissanite and lab created gemstones, you can go as large as you want, with as much color as you want at about one third of the cost for the real thing, and the best part, nobody will ever know.
All the rings in this article were designed by me using 3D CAD software. The metals I use are recycled, and the stones I use, in most of my of my designs, are lab created. If I use diamonds or genuine gemstones, you can be guaranteed they are ethically sourced.
